Flexitanks – Efficient Bitumen Packaging Solution
Flexitanks are innovative, high-capacity containers made from multi-layer polyethylene, designed to transport up to 24 metric tons of bitumen in a single shipment. As a relatively new packaging method in Iran, they are gaining popularity thanks to their cost-effectiveness, lightweight design, and ease of handling.
Compared to traditional options like drums and jumbo bags, flexitanks require significantly less plastic material, making them a more environmentally sustainable choice. Their one-time-use nature also reduces the need for container cleaning and improves operational efficiency.
However, it’s important to note that flexitanks may offer less structural protection than rigid containers, making them more suitable for short to medium-distance transport under controlled conditions. For certain long-haul shipments or extreme climates, alternative packaging options like bitutainers may be more appropriate.
